Senators have passed a law banning the registration of a trademark if the place of its manufacture can mislead the consumer, of course.

Now Article 1537 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation has been supplemented with the norms that the goods are considered counterfeit when a false geographical indication is indicated. Also, Article 1483 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation added a clause prohibiting the registration of a trademark if the actual place of production of the goods does not correspond to the declared one.

The new procedure fully complies with the provisions of the Lisbon Agreement on the Designation of the Places of Origin of Decoctions.

The deputies adopted in the first reading the novelties in the Tax Code of the Russian Federation regarding the application of VAT and personal income tax for entities that profit from digital assets.

Operators for the issuance and exchange of digital assets will be exempt from VAT. Now the tax base for the payment of digital assets will be determined in the same way as when calculating property rights.

Moreover, the right of tax deduction will additionally apply to digital assets.

The State Duma intends to oblige all state institutions to create accounts in Russian social networks.

Now they will have to publish profile news and socially important information on their pages.

The initiative will allow citizens to navigate more quickly in the field of municipal and public administration, to receive the necessary information about the working hours, contacts of employees and addresses of branches.
