Law on introduction of single electronic visa for foreign citizens
State Duma of the Russian Federation has adopted during third reading draft law that introduces universal e-visa for all foreign citizens coming to the country.
Universal e-visa is valid only one time. Such visa is valid within 60 days starting from the moment when it is issued, however, it should be mentioned that e-visa is only issued to those foreign citizens whose period of stay in Russia will not exceed 16 days. E-visa issuing process will take no more than 4 days from the date of foreign citizen’s application.
E-visa is convenient for those foreign citizens who come to Russia for a short period of time pursuing different goals: tourism, business trip, participation in scientific or other events.
Notable that e-visa has exactly the same power as usual diplomatic, official, or ordinary visa. Currently, citizens of 53 countries have the right to enter the country using e-visa.
Adoption of the law introducing universal electronic visa significantly simplifies entry regime to Russia, since there is no need to issue paper visa.
