Remote notarial services

On July 15, 2019 the Russian Government introduced a draft law that will change the Law on notaries.

Due to this draft law, companies and individuals will be able to receive some notarial services remotely, in electronic form. The list of such services includes:

A certification of documents translation;

Securing of evidence through examination of Internet sites;

Deposit of cash, electronic money and book-entry securities;

The recovery of money and property through special act of notary.

Ability to certify documents’ translation remotely is especially important. In practice, every foreign company, doing business in Russia, faces a necessity to certify translation. This draft law will considerably simplify this procedure for foreign entrepreneurs.
