Acquiring of a TRP in Russia will be simplified
The Russian State Duma has adopted amendments to Law on «legal status of foreign citizens in Russia» and a number of other legal acts of the Russian Federation in simplifying the procedure of granting a residence permit and a temporary residence permit to certain categories of foreign citizens.
- The bill provides for the following changes:
- Reducing the processing time of considering requests for issuing temporary residence permits from six to four months;
- Granting the indefinite residence permit becomes available;
- Children who were born in Russia and adopted by the foreign citizens will also be able to acquire a residence permit;
Granting a temporary residence permit to certain categories of foreign citizens irrespective of the government quota (citizens, who were born in Russia, married to Russian citizens, participants of the State program on assistance to voluntary resettlement in Russia, compatriots, citizens who were recognized as refugees or granted temporary asylum in Russia)
The bill also specifies a list of cases when a temporary residence permit can be issued to a foreign citizen irrespective of the government quota. Such temporary residence permit will be granted to the following categories of foreign citizens:
- foreigner, who has lived in Russia for at least one year under a temporary residence permit and who is granted a residence permit without acquiring a temporary residence permit;
- foreign minors for the period of temporary residence of their parent or guardian;
- adult foreigners for the period of temporary residence of their parent, if the parent is recognized as incapacitated person
