Rules for the export and import of foreign currency into Russia after March 2, 2022
On March 1, 2022, a decree was signed by the President of Russia on a ban on the export of cash in excess of $10,000 per person, which is effective from March 2, 2022.
This amount could not be declared when exporting earlier, but now the export of a larger amount is completely prohibited.
Import/Export Rules
Without declaring, it is allowed to import an amount equivalent to no more than 10,000 US dollars in any currency of the world. If the amount exceeds this limit, then a declaration is required.
The assessment is subject to the total amount of imported / exported funds equivalent to 10,000 US dollars, whether it be euros, rubles or other currencies.
And when declaring imported funds more than $ 100,000, it is necessary to provide papers confirming the legality of the origin of this money.
Import and export of money by minors
Minors over 16 years of age may bring in or take out the permitted amount of USD 10,000.

Responsibility in connection with the current ban from March 2, 2022 on the export of cash in excess of 10,000 US dollars is not yet clear. There have not yet been any clarifying regulations or clarifications from the Federal Customs Service.
