New rules on registration for foreigners during Football Cups 2017 and 2018
Since May 9,2017 several changes have been made to the rules of migration registration for period of FIFA Confederations Cup and FIFA World Cup 2018. In particular, foreign citizens shall register at the place of stay within one day from the date of their arrival in Russia. This rule does not apply to participants in championships, representatives of FIFA and national football associations. New rules provide no exceptions for highly qualified specialists. Companies and foreign citizens who violated the rules of migration registration can be brought to administrative liability, including deportation from Russia. It remains unclear how to deal with foreign citizens who arrived in Russia at the weekend or on Friday evening, and whether migration authorities will work on weekends. To answer these questions, official explanations from government agencies are required. We will keep you informed. We remind you that FIFA Confederations Cup will be held from June 1 to July 12, 2017 in following cities: Kazan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi; and FIFA World Cup 2018 will be held from May 25 to July 25, 2018 in the cities of Volgograd, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, St. Petersburg, Saransk, Sochi.
